safe/sea is a marine assistance company based in rhode island. we provide marine towing, salvage and general assistance to recreational boaters in all rhode island waters, including narragansett bay, rhode island sound, and block island sound, up to 25 nautical miles south of block island.over 4,000 local boaters belong to our safe/sea membership program, which provides free towing and routine assistance to our members when their vessels become disabled. in addition, we are the exclusive towing service provider for boatu.s. members in the rhode island area.we operate a fleet of six specially designed and custom built rescue towboats that are ready to respond to calls for assistance 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. in the summer boating season, we base our vessels in wickford, point judith and block island. during the winter months, our point judith and block island vessels are recalled to our main base in wickford.
